Title

The role of zinc transporter HKE4 in breast cancer

Synopsis

Dr Taylor will investigate a protein called HKE4, which she suspects is responsible for some breast cancer cells developing resistance to hormone treatments such as tamoxifen.

Aims & Goals

This small pilot grant aims to discover more about the role HKE4 plays in resistance to treatment. By discovering ways to overcome the action of HKE4 may help scientists develop new breast cancer treatments.
