Title

The role of caspases in mammary gland development and breast tumourigenesis

Synopsis

Dr Watson’s project is looking at a group of molecules called executioner caspases whose role is to kill damaged cells and alert the immune system to remove them from the body. Dr Watson aims to investigate the role of each of the executioner caspases in breast cells and whether the disappearance of any of these molecules leads to the development of breast cancer.

Aims & Goals

This project will help in the development of new breast cancer treatments which will look to target breast cancer cells whilst leaving healthy cells intact.
