Radiotherapy fraction size sensitivity is modulated by DNA repair & cell cycle checkpoints
The results of a recently clinical trial led by professor Yarnold revealed that breast cancer cells can be killed by smaller doses of radiotherapy than other cancers.
The project will help develop simpler, more effective ways of treating breast cancer patients with radiotherapy and will lead to a reduction in side effects from receiving unnecessarily high doses of radiation.
