Epigenetic regulation of expression of BRCA1 and checkpoint genes by PLU- 1/JARID1B

Synopsis

Professor Taylor-Papadimitriou has discovered a molecule called PLU- 1/JARID1B produced by breast cancer cells that seems to interfere with the normal way our cells behave. Therefore this protein may be involved in breast cancer development.

Aims & Goals

This project aims to discover exactly how PLU- 1/JARID1B functions in both normal breast cells and breast cancer cells. By understanding more about its actions may lead to the development of new breast cancer treatments.
