Does IGFBP-2 promote breast cancer cell growth by acting as a novel regulator of PTEN?
This project will investigate why the bodys natural defence mechanisms designed to prevent breast cancer from forming can fail and how these mechanisms could be restored using new breast cancer treatments.
Blocking the ability of IGFBP-2 to promote excessive growth factor-induced cell turnover in tumours, could delay resistance to current therapeutics, which could improve and prolong survival of many women.
