Title

The regulation of anoikis by the Bcl-2 protein, Bid.

Aims & Goals

At present, the most effective treatments for breast cancer are most effetive for early stage desease, and work by inducing apoptosis . In more advanced cancer, the cellualr mechanisms that allow these treatments to work are defective. Although my work will not aid treatment in the short term, it aims to determine if these defective mechanisms can be reactivated, and therefore will hopefully identify strtegies to treat advanced cancer
