Title

Identification of genes involved in docetaxal resistance in breast cancer from chromosomes 7 and 10

Synopsis

In the future doctors will be able to identify which patients have genetic alterations that make their tumours resistant to docetaxel and be able to prescribe the most effective chemotherapy for them

Aims & Goals

"Our Laboratory work will attempt to identify genes associated with resistance to Docetaxel. This will allow us to determine whether these genes are also involved in drug resistance of tumours from patients. Our main goals are to predict which patients will respond to Docetaxel treatment and understand the molecular mechanisms of drug resistance in order to identify novel therapeutic targets."
