Title

The role of Plexin B1 mutations in breast cancer progression

Synopsis

This research will help us understand how mutations in a gene controlling cell movement contribute to the spread of breast cancer, and may provide a basis for new therapy to attack this gene to slow down or prevent the spread from happening.

Aims & Goals

"We have found that plexin B1 is frequently mutated in breast cancer. This project will determine the effect of these mutations on breast cancer cells behaviour. An understanding of the role of plexin B1is necessary for the development of a therapy targeting this pathway that will hopefully slow down or prevent the progression of breast cancer."
