Title

The Linda Jacobs Breast Cancer Campaign PhD studentship Cyclin D1 and the DNA damage response

Synopsis

By understanding how a breast cancer patient's genetic make up can influence response to DNA damaging treatment, clinicians may be better able to tailor treatments to individual patient's needs.

Aims & Goals

"This proposal aims at understanding the response of breast cancer cells to DNA damaging agents, such as those often used in chemotherapy. By understanding such responses, we hope to be able to tailor therapy to individual tumour characteristics to reduce non-productive treatment and reduce unnecessary suffering."
