Title

Wnt signalling and lobular development in the mammary gland

Synopsis

Professor Trevor Dale hopes that by studying stem cells (the building blocks of the body) it will help us to grasp how they transform into a range of specialised cells that make us what we are. A better grasp of normal cell development will allow us to understand and perhaps correct the errors that cause breast cancer.

Aims & Goals

'This project will help identify the process/changes that lead to breast cancer and the cells that are particularly prone to becoming cancerous. Knowing the process and the cell containing the process allows targeting of the next generation of therapies.'
