Chemokines and breast cancer
Professor Tony Ng and his team will study the role that small soluble messages (chemokines) may play in directing breast cancer cells to distant sites where they will establish new tumours (metastasis).
"We aim to identify molecules present on Breast cancer cells that can be used to predict more accurately the behaviour of the disease in individual patients and the response to treatment. Some of these molecules may prove to be useful targets of new therapy."
