Investigating the role of a 3-integrin in angiogenesis
By understanding how breast cancer cells develop their own blood supply in order to grow and spread (angiogenesis), scientists will be able to design drugs to prevent it from happening.
"We will unravel the mechanism of how tumours are fed and grow. By understanding the molecular mechanism of this we will be able to design drugs to starve tumours and stop them from growing".
