Involvement of the PPARs in the development and treatment of breast cancer
Little is known about peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs), a group of molecules thought to be involved in the growth of breast tumours. Dr Gill hopes to expose these molecules as future targets for breast cancer drugs
"The funding will allow the potential of the new drugs, developed in Newcastle, for the therapy of hormone-resistant breast cancer".
| Title | GW9662, a potent antagonist of PPARgamma , inhibits growth of breast tumour cells and promotes the anticancer effects pf the PPARgamma agonist rosiglitazone, independently of PPARgamma activation |
