Dr Geeta Patel’s PhD studentship, funded by Breast Cancer Campaign and supervised by Professor Diana Harcourt at the University of the West of England, is one of very few studies that have looked into the breast cancer experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic women. My training for the London Marathon is continuing and I have now got some of my biggest runs behind me. Having now done an 18 and a 20 miler, my mileage will now slowly decrease towards the big day. Training, as before, has been plagued with missed runs, illness, and just the general pressures of everyday life getting in the way. Nevertheless, I feel as prepared as I can be, and in some ways, I am excited to embark upon the 26.2 miles once again.
