Debenhams products in support of Breast Cancer Campaign

Actress Jessie Wallace attended a photocall at Debenhams Oxford Street store to say a huge thank you to staff and customers on behalf of Breast Cancer Campaign for raising a fantastic £416,453 during 2009. This brings the grand total raised since 2001 to over £2.3 million!

2009 was the most successful year since our partnership began and stores across the country helped to raise the money through sales of products, pin badges and the Debenhams charity giftcard, staff fundraising and supplier donations.

In 2009, Debenhams was the exclusive retailer of the official Campaign wear it pink T-shirt (£10, with all profits donated to the charity). In addition, five of the 'Designers at Debenhams', John Rocha, Matthew Williamson, Betty Jackson, Jasper Conran and Julien MacDonald, created a range of designer T-shirts with 30 per cent donated from each one sold.

Other products on sale during October included a bling range of accessories, comprising products from iPod covers to piggy banks, pink cupcakes and a 50p donation from every bra sold. Campaign's pink ribbon pin badges were also sold at till points.

Staff showed some serious pedal power as they accepted a challenge to cycle to the moon, a distance of 225,000 miles! Stores had exercise bikes donated from local gyms and were sponsored by colleagues, friends, family and shoppers, who were also encouraged to hop on the bikes to help staff reach their 1,500 mile target per store.

Debenhams continues to support Campaign through its Charity Edition gift card. The gift card also supports NSPCC and Children 1ST in Scotland and so far has raised over £88,000 for Campaign.
