Broadcaster Jenni Murray announced as new Patron of Breast Cancer Campaign

14th November 2007

Breast Cancer Campaign, the only charity that specialises in funding independent breast cancer research throughout the UK, is delighted to announce that Jenni Murray has become a Patron of the Charity.

One of the UK’s leading journalists and broadcasters, Jenni recently returned to work as presenter of Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, after receiving treatment for breast cancer.

In her first appearance as Patron, Jenni will read at the Charity’s annual Carol Service at Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, London in December.

Jenni Murray commented; “I'm delighted to offer my support to Breast Cancer Campaign as I know I have benefited from advances made through well funded and managed research. Treatments and life expectancy are improving all the time and without charitable funding such advances would be impossible.”

Pamela Goldberg, Chief Executive, Breast Cancer Campaign said; “The Charity is delighted to welcome Jenni as Patron. She is someone who has always had a direct route into the hearts and minds of women, more recently through her own experience of breast cancer, and we are honoured that we have her commitment and support.”
