Why should I volunteer for Breast Cancer Campaign?
Volunteering not only helps the charity continue researching the cure for breast cancer, but it can also be a lot of fun for you. It is a great way to meet new people and make new friends in your local area. Many volunteers also benefit from building up valuable work experience which can be added to their CV, helping them get paid work in the future: 94 per cent of employers believe that volunteering can add to skills.

Who volunteers for Breast Cancer Campaign?
We have volunteers from age 16 years-old and above. Students and young people volunteer through organising events at school or university and helping distribute posters in their community. Volunteers in full-time work encourage their colleagues to fundraise and attend local events on our behalf in the evenings and weekends. Retired people look to put their experiences and free time to good use. Read about some of our existing volunteers to see what they do for us.

I have a special skill to offer, can I volunteer too?
From time to time, people come forward willing to offer their professional skills or expertise to our cause. In the past we have benefited from the help of lawyers, hotel bookers, accountants and event organisers, to name but a few.

If you have a particular skill to offer and think you can help Breast Cancer Campaign, call Lauren on 020 7749 3708 or email volunteer@breastcancercampaign.org

How much time do I have to give?
The great thing about volunteering for Campaign is that you can do as much or as little as you like. You may choose to help at one-off national events and supermarket collections where you will be called upon a couple of times a year. Alternatively, you may like to join a regional fundraising group, meeting once a month and organising events. Read about our volunteer roles.

What skills and experience do I need?
Our volunteers require no specific skills or experiences. All we ask is that you are polite and friendly at all times when representing the charity.

What training and support will I be given?
When you register as an official volunteer, you will be provided with a pack that gives you further details about the roles you have chosen and information about breast cancer and the charity. There are two dedicated members in the Community team who will support you in your volunteering.

Can I claim expenses?
If you incur any travel expenses whilst volunteering for Breast Cancer Campaign, we will refund them. Volunteers complete expense claim forms and return to us with any tickets or receipts. If you are working over lunch time, you can claim £4 towards your food.

I love the sound of volunteering for Breast Cancer Campaign - how do I apply?
