Travis Perkins

Travis Perkins, supplier to the building and construction industry, has chosen to support Breast Cancer Campaign and Children's Hospices UK in 2010 and 2011.

Staff at more than 600 branches and regional offices will be organising a variety of exciting fundraising events and are aiming to raise £160,000 for the two charities each year. Additional funds will be raised through Travis Perkins' Group fundraising events including a family fun day and charity challenges.

The company has even sprayed four of its lorries pink to raise awareness of the partnership when making deliveries!

The money raised for Campaign will go towards research projects in London, Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester. Each of these projects will help Campaign in its aim to beat breast cancer, a disease which is diagnosed in nearly 46,000 people every year.

Ian Church, Managing Director of Travis Perkins (Midlands) and Chairman of the Travis Perkins Charity Committee, said: "We are delighted to be supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and Children's Hospices UK. These two fantastic charities were chosen as much for the difference they make locally and regionally as for their causes, so I am confident they will be well supported by employees across our branch network and that we will raise a considerable amount of money for them. We look forward to working closely with both organisations over the next two years to support them and to put even more 'fun' into our fundraising."

Campaign wishes Travis Perkins all the very best with its fundraising - good luck!
