Payroll giving and volunteering

Employees

Payroll giving is a tax-efficient way of giving to Breast Cancer Campaign from your gross pay. Donating before you are taxed means money that would normally go to HM Revenue & Customs is given to the charity instead.

Making a monthly donation is simple to organise: you just need to decide how much you want to donate each month. For example, to give £10, you only need to donate £7.80. HM Revenue & Customs then gives Campaign the extra £2.20 (at the basic rate of taxation).

If your payroll department has a scheme in place they will set up your donations for you. If they don’t please ask them to read the guidelines below.

Companies

It is easy to set up a payroll giving scheme and donate to Campaign. All your payroll department needs to do is talk to a government approved agency, such as the Charities Aid Foundation or Charities Trust.

If you have any questions regarding payroll giving, please call Stuart Radcox on 020 7749 3713 or email payrollgiving@breastcancercampaign.org

Secondments

Lending Campaign the skills and expertise of one of your employees for a set period of time is invaluable to the charity and the individual who can enjoy new experiences and learn new skills. In addition, the cost of the employee’s salary is deductible whilst they volunteer.
