The Isle of Pink returned for its second year in October 2009, hoping to build on the fantastic success of the previous year and raise a total of £40,000, vital for breast cancer research.
Local lighting specialist Happy Daze kick-started the month by transforming the Guildhall into a pink beacon to get everyone thinking about what they would do to turn the island pink.
Transport companies Wightlink and Hovertravel supported the initiative again by attaching pink ribbons to their vessels and buildings and collecting donations from staff and customers.
We had a fantastic calendar of events for islanders to take part in including:
- A pink people spotting competition at the Model Village Godshill
- Pinkgang Chine Day at Blackgang
- Pink Halloween at the Zoo
- Our second annual Isle of Pink Friendship Walk
