Breast cancer diagnosis and treatment

Once referred by your doctor to a hospital with symptoms, a series of tests will be carried out called a triple assessment. This allows for a more detailed diagnosis and ensures that if cancer is detected the most suitable treatment is given. This includes:

Each breast cancer diagnosis will be different and patients are individually assessed to receive the best treatment for them. This will normally include a combination of all, or some of the following: surgery, radiotherapy, or drug therapy in any order.
