What's Happening With The Future Of The Human Tissue Authority

Baroness Delyth Morgan, Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Campaign, comments following today’s announcement of a consultation on the future of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) and Human Tissue Authority (HTA).

“Following today’s announcement, Breast Cancer Campaign would like reassurance that this is not change for change sake. The HTA has built up confidence and trust with researchers and it’s important that this is not undermined by the changes proposed.

“The HTA has played a critical role in guiding researchers on how to apply the Human Tissue Act to their work, and this clarity and leadership needs to continue to ensure that there are no delays or complications to research.”
