Yorkshire-based Damart crowned its tenth anniversary supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and raising more than £154,000 by lighting up its building as part of national Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The striking light show which took place at Damart HQ this week saw a range of Damart’s charity images projected onto the 60ft building watched by invited guests, Damart staff and representatives from Breast Cancer Campaign.

Damart’s Marketing Director, John Bottomley, commented: “We’ve reached such a milestone supporting Breast Cancer Campaign and so we really wanted to put on a show for all to enjoy and celebrate our successful partnership with the charity.

Damart raised the money by creating a limited edition pink vest each year with a donation from each vest sold going to Breast Cancer Campaign to help the charity fund vital research into the disease

“Our partnership with Breast Cancer Campaign is very important to us as so many of our customers are older women, the age group which are most at risk from the disease and it’s also a charity that many of our staff are keen to support.  We’re so proud that we have managed to raise £154, 218 for the charity, here’s to the next ten years!”

Ikram Dahman, Interim Fundraising Director at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We’re thrilled to have enjoyed such a positive and successful partnership with Damart over the last ten years, which is one of our longest corporate partnerships.  Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and each year there are 48,000 women who are diagnosed with the disease.  All the money that Damart has raised has been vital in helping us to fund innovative world-class research into the disease. We cannot thank Damart enough and look forward to continuing working with them in the future.”
