Comment on antioxidants and multivitamins

Breast Cancer Campaign comments on news today which suggests that taking too many antioxidants (for example in the form of multivitamins) could potentially counteract the effects of some cancer treatments.

Stewart Griffiths, Director of Research at Breast Cancer Campaign, said: “We welcome research to help us understand more about anything could affect treatment for people with breast cancer. Patients who are taking or considering nutritional supplements, or other complementary therapies such as herbal remedies, should discuss these with their clinicians to ensure they do not interfere with their cancer treatment.”
