Campaign and WCRF-UK jointly fund breast cancer prevention projects
Breast Cancer Campaign (Campaign) and the World Cancer Research fund (WCRF-UK) have recently jointly funded two cancer prevention projects looking into the role nutrition plays in preventing breast cancer. The awards were made to Dr Michelle Harvie at the University of Manchester and to Professor Diana Kuh at the Royal Free and University College School of Medicine, London.
Campaign’s recently published research strategy highlighted that prevention should be a core research area for Campaign. This has lead to the collaboration with WCRF-UK who have been funding cancer prevention research since 1990.
This is the first time both charities have jointly funded research with another organisation and the collaboration has been so successful that Campaign and WCRF-UK will be funding similar projects together from now on.
